Amy DeLaney is the founding Partner of DeLaney DeLaney & Voorn, Ltd. where her elder law practice concentrates in Medicaid, special needs and estate planning, guardianships, and probate & estate administration. Amy Parise DeLaney is a (CELA) Certified Elder Law Attorney in the State of Illinois, as certified by the National Elder Law Foundation. There are currently only twelve CELAs in the State of Illinois. Amy has been awarded the highest rating by avvo.com and the award of Leading Lawyer. She was selected by her attorney peers as a Super Lawyer, and has been awarded the highest A.V. rating for ethics and expertise by Martindale-Hubbell as determined in evaluations by the judiciary and bar. Ms. DeLaney is a current board member and past President for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys in Illinois. She served on the editorial board of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Law Journal. Ms. DeLaney has been a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Elder Law Committee; Illinois Bar Association; and the South Suburban Estate Planning Council. She also volunteers on the board of directors of several charitable foundations, including the Veterans' Legal Aid Society in Oak Brook. Ms. DeLaney received her B.A.and M.A. from the University of Illinois, and her J.D. from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She has been admitted to practice in Washington, Oregon, and Illinois, and before the U.S. District Court and U.S. Tax Court.

Ms. DeLaney is a professor of law at John Marshall Law School, where she teaches classes on special needs planning and elder law. Frequently quoted in media outlets such as the Daily Southtown, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Hospital News, she was also featured on PBS about elder law issues. Amy DeLaney is a frequent lecturer on the topic of Elder Law, advising and educating other attorneys and community organizations. She has served on the faculty of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the National Business Institute , and Illinois State Bar Association. She also has served as a bar review examiner and proctor for the National Elder Law Foundation.

Ms. DeLaney has drafted and assisted in the passage (and blockage) of legislation to protect seniors and nursing home residents’ rights. She has been recognized and serves as a legal expert in certain litigation cases, and has testified before Senate, JCAR, and House committees. Amy and her family reside in her hometown of Chicago. Michael DeLaney, her husband, is another partner with DeLaney DeLaney & Voorn, Ltd.
